Tis the Season

Shop Time

Well we have begun the Step up to be tall project. This week end we did the Engineering, Material acquisition, cutting and the Glue up.

Next week the Assembly.

The tub is off!

Minnie and I finally got the tub off the Jeep. It wasn't too bad with the tractor and the weight is not too much. Now I can get at the drive train and engine easily.

I bought a new tool box for the project, no more lost tools.

Mia and Quinn come for a Visit

While Carla is recuperating from her Gallbladder surgery we have been the temporary home base for Mia and Quinn. I don't know when we have had so much fun.
Mia has been Grandpa's helper, fixing the tractor, cutting the grass, dancing to happy feet and relaxing on the deck while listening to the Blues.
Quinn has been helping Grandma with the laundry, sweeping, sand box basics and how shoes, brushes, and Lego's really should be stored in side the bag of dog food.

MOVIE NIGHT W/MIA

This week we did not have our usual breakfast advanture with Mia, instead we had a movie night.

The Feature was "HAPPY FEET".

Everything started out like a regular movie night - you know everyone watching and eating Popcorn.

Then DANCING started. Now we were all having fun.

Mia had some great moves.

We can't wait until next week...... not sure what will be happening, but it is sure to be fun.....

This Sunday we went to the park and explored. Mia got to play on 3 different play grounds and explore a cave with Grandma. She also fed the ducks in the stream.

Minnie and I went to Owen and Barb’s Hawaiian party on Saturday. We had a great time and some really good BBQ. They have done a great job putting together the landscaping and house decoration. A good time was had by all! In the pic is Owen and a couple of his friends in full dress.

Resurrecting the Jeep

Moving it the easy way.





















Next step is to try to rotate the engine. We can remove the grill and get at the main bolt on the crank shaft and try to turn it with the plugs removed. I think we will remove the valve covers and do some inspection of the inside. The Jeep manual covers how to do a few checks to evaluate the engine.

We will have a list of items that should be done to get the jeep on the street. I’ll put $ to the list to get a budget number for the work required.

Adventure at the Conservation Center

Today Mia, Grandma and I went on hike at the conservation center. We saw one Dear, 2 squirrels while on the trail. Back at the Conservation Center we saw a Tarantula, Black Widow and Wolf spider. We went in the small cave they made at the center and viewed all kinds of cave creatures. Mia was afraid and wanted to go look at the birds. More from Grandma later…

Martell Visit

On September 23rd Janette, Mike and Sean will be coming on down for a visit. We do not have anything big planned for the visit, except for a Cookout on Monday. This will make it easy for everyone to get together and relax. We are really looking forward to this and will post photos of the event.


On the menu for Monday is
Pork Roast
Rice
Black Beans
Fruit
and lots to drink.

Jeep Stuff

I got a manual delivered today on the Jeep. I plan on moving it into my shop for some evaluation this weekend. Hoping Joe and Darin will join in . This could be fun...
